Thank you for taking the time to read about us. We can’t wait to become parents and share our life, family, and friends with the child that God has planned.
Nathan is the guy in the room that everyone likes but might be a little nerdy at times. He promises to keep his corny “dad jokes” out of this letter but is excited for those to actually become dad jokes soon. Jessica is a gracious host who wants people to be together and builds meaningful relationships. She gets things done, loves being outside, and can’t wait to use her energy for long walks and playing, baking, and reading with her child. We’ve been through good times and hard times together, love each other unconditionally, and are excited to share that same unconditional love with a child.
We met in 2015 at an engagement party for mutual friends through our Bible studies and went on our first date the next week. Nathan says that he knew it was meant to be when Jessica agreed to share pork cheek sliders. We love trying new foods. It took Jessica slightly longer than the first date. We were engaged in April of 2016 and married in September, believing that God had brought us together for a special purpose. Since getting married, we’ve walked through challenges, but we’ve found that we can face life’s difficulties better together. Through ups and downs we trust that God is caring for us and directing our paths. We’ve had a desire to adopt since getting married, and after a long struggle with infertility, God has made it clear that He has a special child for us through adoption.
Home Sweet Home
We live in Birmingham, Alabama, in a suburban neighborhood with a big fenced yard complete with a tree swing that Nathan built for Jessica as a Valentine’s Day gift and our dog, Joey. We enjoy tending to three raised beds, where we grow vegetables and flowers, taking Joey for walks at the nearby public park, and visiting local farmers markets and festivals.
Our niece, nephew, and friends’ kids all enjoy playing with Joey, who is great with kids and is much more chill like a cat than a dog. When talking on the phone with our niece and nephew, they always want to say hey to “Jo-Jo” right after us.
Jess will be an outstanding mom. After just a few dates I was already head-over-heels for the girl of my dreams, and that love has only grown stronger through experiencing life together. She’s a task-oriented person who focuses every day on the things and people important in her life. While there are normal fears and anxieties, I see her excitement each day to become a mom and love our children. Jess continues to make me a more Godly man in the way that she loves, cares for, and challenges me. I can’t imagine life without her and look forward to our children sharing that same love.
The only person I can imagine spending my life with is Nathan. He is thoughtful and kind, always thinks before he speaks, and remains calm, even when under pressure. As an engineer, Nathan pays attention to details and makes sure that things are done “right” to take care of me and our home. He has a unique ability to make others feel valued as he asks questions about their life and listens intently. All of my friends and family loved Nathan right away. With his (sometimes ridiculous) jokes, love for singing pop music in the car, and optimistic outlook on life, Nathan has kept me smiling every day since we met. When I watch Nathan play with our niece and nephew I can’t help but think what an amazing dad he’ll be.
What we do for fun!
We both love traveling and exploring new places, trying new foods and restaurants, spending time with our family and friends, and curling up on the couch with a good book or Netflix. We prefer being together, even if it means compromise (like Nathan going along on another one of Jessica’s long walks or Jessica watching Alabama football).
Jessica enjoys anything that gets her outside, whether it’s hiking, biking, or soaking up sunshine at the beach. As a Registered Dietitian and chef, she is passionate about cooking but even more so loves spending time around the table with people she loves. Working part-time from home will allow her to be there with our child every day.
Nathan loves learning new things through listening to podcasts and reading. He enjoys a project around the house or in the yard and doesn’t mind working hard. During the fall you’ll find him watching Alabama football. Nathan also likes to cook and proudly plays the role of Jessica’s official taste tester.
The People We Love!

All of our family and friends are excited to be a part of our child’s life.
We have always wanted to be parents, and our desire is to grow our family and experience the self-sacrificing love a parent has for a child. We want our home to be a place characterized by unconditional love, fun, forgiveness, encouragement, security, and joy. We will prioritize our marriage, knowing that this forms a firm foundation for our entire family, and time with our child, one-on-one and all together. Jessica looks forward to staying home with our child and being a part of every moment, and Nathan plans to spend as much time as possible with them as well.
Thank you for the opportunity to share a little bit about ourselves with you. We hope to have the chance to know more about you and experience the special bond of loving the same child. We promise to always care for and love our child with patience, commitment and joy, relying on God’s grace to sustain us each step of the way. We will only speak positively of the precious mother that brought our child into the world and into our lives. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or would like to know more.
